Mantsebo Amelia 'Matsaba

Mantsebo Amelia 'Matsaba Sempe Nkuebe (1902–1964) was the queen of Basutoland from 28 January 1941 to 12 March 1960.
She was the first wife of Simon Seeiso Griffith〔(Genealogy )〕 and had no son, only one daughter named Ntsebo. Mofumali Mabereng who was the second wife of Paramount Chief Seeiso, her son Bereng became the King of Lesotho Moshoeshoe II of Lesotho was king between 1960 and 1988 and from 1990 to 1996.
When she was the Paramount Chief of Basutoland, King George VI along with Queen Elizabeth and their daughters Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret visited Maseru. She was made an OBE by King George VI in a public ceremony attended by thousands of Basuto people to recognize their war efforts.
